first on decks.de!!! hija de colombia is putting out its second release in the middle of november. after great dj, radio and press reactions on its first release - >loco suenos ep<, there was no need to change much. el nino andres is again the artist, but the music he provides for this releases is a step further in deepness of tech house. anton kordic, who records under the name el nino andres, provides the somophore release, a two track fusion of south american, detroit and berlin influences. title track is a intensive orchestral affair, going for full 14 minutes of drums, big piano hooks and sax layers. b side >illmatico< is a percussion monster, that builds under a catchy organ melody. the cycle repeats every 2 minutes, and tracks subtly builds layers and layers of rhythm.

hija de colombia is a new label, which looks set to blur both international and genre boundaries. despite the columbian appearance the label is headed up by a 24 year old croatian named anton kordic who is now based in mostar.

foog is a new project of japanese veteran house music producer yukihiro fukutomi. yukihiro released the new single on mule musiq (cover of marshall jeffersons >open our eyes<!) under the own name few month ago, it was played by michael mayer, cassy. foog have already released two album in japan (only) and some of the track have been supported by carl craig, loco dice and name a few. this foog new single is a first single cut from the upcoming new album which will be released in feb or march 2010. a side >nino< is a dark experimental deep house. b side >manya< is a hi-tec detroit techno style!

twin tribes is a dark synth duo based in brownsville, texas. formed by luis navarro (vocals, guitar, synths, drum machines) and joel niño, jr. strange valleys, the 2018 full-length from starving daughters, is a progression as well as a shift in sound from the la band s already-stellar previous releases. make no doubt about it that the sound of progressive rock and psychedelia still play a big role here but there s certainly a greater influence from library music on the new lp. the starving daughters vinyl impressions blog, led by chris tillotson of the band, shared the music of chris s collection of which many were library lp s. these records seemed to have seeped into the mind, body, and souls of the whole band on this strange valleys lp. everything from the instrumentation, the attention to melody, to the track-length shows the large appreciation they have for library music. that being said, this moog-heavy, psychedelic-prog-funk, california-themed record is certainly unique and adventurous. winding through the exotic roads of strange valleys is certainly a trip well worth taking over and over again.
